Sziget Festival 2009

Summer 2009 promises to be an exciting festival season. With Primavera kicking off this weekend, followed in June by the famous Glastonbury and many other smaller festivals at home, we decided to look further afield to a new festival for ourselve

Located on an 108 acre island in the river Danube in Budapest, Hungary it has grown in the last number of years since it started in 1993. A 5 day camping festival, wtih 2 ‘pre festival’ days promising international and hungarian acts, this year’s line up does not disappoint in the big festival headliners. Commonly dubbed the european Burning Man festival it not only boasts your usual main stages, small tents and bars, but also has relaxation areas, cinema, tattoing, massages and a range of sports and activities. It has an open camping policy, leaving it up to you to camp wherever you choose, within reason & who wants to camp beside the portaloos anyway?!

Tickets for camping are just €180 giving you access to the site for 7 days, €150 for non-camping with 5 days entrance. Check out the lineup and further details on: http://www.szigetfest.co.uk/festivalinfo – an informative website, giving lots of information for people travelling from abroad.

hope to see you there!
